FAQ:
Multi-Camera - Does It Matter?

The most important decision, if you are serious about getting a truly professional DVD, is to use more than one camera. Using two or more cameras has major advantages.

For instance, if an inevitable obstruction or guest gets in the way, the second videographer can capture the moment. Extra points of view can only help to get the polished results you deserve during the editing process. Another thing to consider is the fact that when a second camera is included there are two angles covered in real time that make for better spit-screen opportunities to be edited into your DVD.

A second camera can be purchased separately if you didn't include one in your package. Prices are listed in our À la carte menu

Photography Vs. Videography

Since I offer both services this is a question I hear often:
Which is better: the Photography or Videography package. This is a choice that is very hard to make when planning your wedding and there's no easy answer I can give in this respect.

A photo captures a moment in time, video allows you to record movement and sound, which include the walk down the aisle, the wedding vows, the song and first dance, toast, cake cut and comments and more. Whether you choose a Photo Album, a Wedding DVD or both you will be allowed to relive and hold on to the memories of your wedding day forever!

Sometimes when the wedding budget starts getting high, some choose to settle for one or the other and compromises on package choices are made. When available I can offer both photography and videography services at the same event with the help of my assistant camerapersons and I offer discounts of %10 when both photography and videography services are used together at the same event. Personally I would get the best package for both services although it may not be within your budget consider the fact that hopefully you only get married once and you will want the absolutely best possible quality photos and video footage of your wedding day. If you choose a smaller package and decide you want more after your wedding I can't go back and get photos or video footage of your wedding I didn't take because it wasn't part of the package! Make the right decision and get the best for your wedding you deserve it - it's an investment of high quality memories.

A video of your wedding day will allow you and your family to relive this moment in time for generations to come. Also I can make a still of any frame off from the video and there's 30 frames per second so that's a lot of pictures to choose from. For candid stills I get better photos than a photographer since there's so many pictures to choose from I can get the most climatic ones. Although the quality of the still image is not comparable to image quality achieved by using my photography services. You still might want to think about just upgrading your video package with digital .jpeg's as a slideshow on your DVD instead of having a Photo Album Package.

High Quality Equipment

The new 3 chip CCD digital cameras offer excellent color quality and low light capabilities that are advantages when bright lighting is not desired. I use one of the highest quality video cameras available, the Canon XL2.

I use the most advanced video/audio editing, special effects and DVD authoring software available:

Apple Final Cut Pro 7
Soundtrack Pro 3
Motion 4
DVD Studio Pro 4
Adobe Photoshop Extended CS5

I also use the most powerful hardware available:

Canon XL2 Mini DV 3CCD professional digital camcorder
Mac Pro 2.66 gig quad-core Intel Xeon processor
4 gig RAM
4x500 HD RAID
"23 Apple Cinema Display
Audio Technica wireless lav mic
Bogen Manfrotto 501 Fluid Head
Bogen Manfrotto Carbon Fiber Tripod
Canon 40D Professional Digital SLR Camera
Canon EF 24-70 mm f/2.8 L USM Lens
Canon EF 70-200 mm f/2.8 IS L USM Lens
Canon 580 EX II Speedlite Flash
Canon 420 EX Speedlite Flash
Canon BG-E4n Vertical Battery Grip

With the software/hardware/certified skill combination I can produce a high-quality DVD of your wedding or special event that will be cherished for a lifetime.

With a DVD you can navigate to any segment you wish, quickly and easily, and they do not wear out. Plus the advanced authoring software allows your DVD to have motion menus with background music, subtitles, surround-sound audio options, motion-menu transitions, DVD@ccess to sites like your wedding website, and pretty much anything else you can think of that a Hollywood DVD would have, at an affordable price.

How long until my DVD is Finished?

Depending on what Package you selected it can take as little as two days and as long as one month to finish your wedding DVD. Building a Wedding Website can also take up to one month to finish so it’s a good idea to get one started sooner than later.

Editing and Effects

What about editing and special effects? The art of wedding videography can be likened to getting colors on a palette; the editing process is the canvas. Editing can be as simple as removing unnecessary footage, but in the hands of a creative and talented editor your finished wedding video will be a memorable one and something to cherish.

There is no substitute for good editing because it is not always what you shoot that counts but how you show it. Digital Editing involves getting digital video from one or more cameras into the computer (Capture & Encode). Then the real fun begins.

Generally, 4 hours of editing is required per each attended hour. So a 4-hour schedule will take approximately 20 hours of editing, double that for two cameras. Many Videographers just don’t put that amount of time into it, but it’s that extra time that makes all the difference. Another difference is the fact the editing is being performed by an Apple Certified Professional video editor who has a Final Cut Pro Level 1 Certification.

How do I get my DVD?

So you've checked out this website and you've become interested in having your own DVD of your wedding so you Email me or chat through the AIM link on my page saying you're interested and you want to set-up a meeting.

After that we meet up and discuss which package you're interested in and I break down the features of that package and inform you about any other options you might not of known about.

Once your package has been tailored I will write up an agreement for you and Email it to you so you can look over it, sign it, and mail it to the address I provide along with your down payment.

Then I show up on the day of your event, cover the video footage, and go back and start working on editing it. When I finish editing your DVD (about a week after your wedding) I will Email you and let you know it's done and we will set-up another meeting where you can look over the DVD and make sure everything is how you wanted it according to our terms then I will collect the final payment.

It all starts with you Emailing me in regards to your interest and we can go from there. Let me know what you'd like on your DVD and I can produce a package that fits your needs.

Info about having a wedding website

Think of having a website for your wedding that has information about where the reception is located with the ability to RSVP. Maybe you want to have a wedding calendar with events and locations displayed, send out elegant e-Card email invitations and display your photo album + wedding video online for friends and family to view.

What's that? You want more you say? O.K.

Well what if you had a site that was password protected? You could have friends and family signup in order to view your website only upon your registration approval via email reply. Your registered visitors can leave comments on your website that are managed by you. Also have a page where your friends and family visitors can upload their pictures and videos onto your wedding website on a community scrapbook page.

I can design and develop all of these website features and more. If you are interested in having a website developed for your wedding let me know what kind of features you had in mind and we'll go from there!

Can I view an entire sample DVD?

An entire wedding DVD is available to download as a .zip file for demonstration purposes.

After unzipping the file you can open the video_ts folder from your DVD viewing application on your computer.
